CASE STUDY: NEXTEAR



As a keen BMX rider, 21 year old Jonathan Zuvela found his wired earphones were constantly falling out of his ears, so decided to take matters into his own hands and develop NEXTEAR - the world’s smartest wireless earphones. When he came to us prototypes were done, a manufacturer in China had been sourced and all that was left to complete the young entrepreneur’s dream was to raise the $20,000 dollars he required to manufacture the first run of the products, which he chose to do via crowd-funding platform Indiegogo.

To ensure the campaign had every chance at success, we worked with Jonathan on a quick re-brand and website refresh before the launch of the campaign which involved an extensive Google Adwords and video advertising campaign, and well as a fast and furious tech PR campaign calling on all of our national and international tech media contacts. What happened next surpassed all expectations. Just ten days after launching the campaign, Zuvela had raised over $100,000 – exceeding his target by five times - and was averaging raising $10,000 a day online.

CASE STUDY: STARTUP WEEKEND & THE VR SMARTVIEW


As the winner of the Sunshine Coast's inaugural Startup Weekend event in 2014, an event we were the publicist for, we loved helping VR Smart View (now called Phenomec) promote their innovative technology - a head mountable display case that utilizes the smartphone as a mobile immersive media device.

Users can slot their smart phone into the headset, which the team are anticipating will retail for as little as $100, and thereafter enjoy 3D movies, games or engage in other smartphone related activities on a huge screen, hands & cords free! The idea had enormous commercial potential, in a market which was extremely hot at the time following the sale of the Oculus Rift to Facebook for $2bn earlier in 2014.

After winning the Startup Weekend with a 3D printed proto-type, secured $450 in sales, and a potential multi-million dollar distribution deal (which we connected them to), we worked with them to generate 21 media pieces of media coverage in some of the biggest startup/tech media in Australia such as startupsmart.com.au, techworld.com.au, arnnet.com.au computerworld.com.au, as well as main stream media such as ABC media and even international coverage in Germany! What a great way to launch a brand new tech business!

CASE STUDY: MINECRAFT GLOBAL COMPETITION

         

The world's gamers were challenged to use their imagination and online game Minecraft to generate ideas for the redevelopment of a Sunshine Coast suburb’s central business district. Minecraft allows users to tap into their creativity to construct and build designs in a digital world. The Creative Collective were proud to PR this very innovative global project and to secure a wide range of national and international media in the process, including placements in Brisbane Times, the Sydney Morning Herald and CIO magazine which helped get the word out about the competition and saw entries coming in from most states in Australia for the competition, and even New Zealand!

CASE STUDY: NO KIDDING BOOK LAUNCH
Ok so it's not a tech product per say but this campaign for our director, Yvette Adams' second self-published book very much involved contacting tech media, as well as a range of parenting and mainstream media, to get the word out on a topic which is hotly talked about. This campaign was executed in stages, firstly in Australia in 2014, and later in New Zealand in 2015, with two national television pieces secured in each country. The campaign very much established our director as a much sought after public speaker and media commentator on the topic of kids and technology.
